the campus by resigning abruptly, citing health problems that have

reasons, the California State University chancellor's office

luminaries such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks, to the
current fight to legalize gay marriage or same-sex unions has upset
many African-Americans, including John and Sandra Walsh of Grand
Prairie
The coalition is composed of more than a dozen Metroplex churches
that oppose gay marriages. The group was founded by the Rev. William
Dwight McKissic, pastor of the Arlington church.
"It irks me, this whole comparison to the civil rights movement,"
said John Walsh, who helps lead the men's ministry at the
church. "Homosexuality, in my opinion, is a choice. Being born black
isn't. When you walk into a restaurant or any other place, people
know immediately that you're black."
