Preparations for the 2nd World Buddhist Summit to be held from November 30 to December 2 in Lumbini are in the final stage.
Published reports quoting Lumbini Development Trust officials said Thursday that 95 percent preparation has been completed and the remaining task will be finished within a day or two. Until Sunday, 167 delegates of various countries have confirmed to participate the world summit.
40 countries including India, USA, China, France, Germany, Australia, South Korea, Bhutan and Cambodia are sending delegates along with observers, Trust officials said. “However, there is no confirmation regarding the participation of heads of states and government heads,” reports quoted them as saying. All guests are expected in Lumbini by the eve of the summit.
