11/29/04 International Tibet Independence Movement (ITIM) is once again coordinating a March for Tib

 International Tibet Independence Movement (ITIM) is once again coordinating a March for Tibet’s Independence. This 11 day 220+ mile walk from Indianapolis to Chicago will begin on November 30 in Indianapolis and end at Chinese consulate in Chicago on December 10th. Jigme Norbu (son of Taktser Rinpoche and nephew of His Holiness The Dalai Lama) will once again lead this walk. There are three other core walkers, Passang (64 yr old-Minnesota), Ngawang Norbu (Boston) and Doug Herman (New York).

During this walk, we will educate people about the serious situation inside Tibet and seek their support for complete Independence for Tibet; secure the release of political prisoners including Panchen Lama and Tulku Tenzin Delek; stop the marginalization of the Tibetan population; to protest the railroad being built in Tibet.

ITIM with the support of Tibetan Association of Chicago will be organizing a major demonstration in front the Chinese consulate in Chicago on December 10th. The following participants will meet at Water Tower (845 N. Michigan Ave) and proceed to the Chinese consulate (100 E. Erie St.).

This will be the biggest demonstration in front of the Chinese consulate in Chicago.

ITIM was founded by Taktser Rinpoche and Prof. Larry Gerstein of Ball State University on March 18 1995 to obtain Tibet's Independence.
