RESOURCE PERSONS
Ven(Dr) Ngawang Jorden will teach on Medicine Buddha, and Dr. Tenzin Dakpa will teach the rest.

Ven (Dr) Ngawang Jorden earned Kachupa (B.A.) and Loppon (M.A.) degree in Buddhist Philosophy from the Sakya College.  In 1991,  he received Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) degree from Harvard Divinity School and Ph.D. in 2003. Currently he is teaching Tibetan language and Buddhism at the University of Chicago. He frequently travels to Europe, Nepal and South East Asia to teach Buddhism and deliver lectures. He regularly teaches at the International Buddhist Academy in Nepal, and at the TIBETcenter Chicago.

He received his spiritual teachings from several Tibetan masters, such as, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Sakya Trizin (Head of the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism), His Eminence Chogay Trichen Rinpoche (Head of the Tshar sub-school of Sakya), His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche (Head of Ngor sub-school of Sakya), Most Venerable Khenpo Appey Rinpoche and many others, such as the late His Holiness Dilgo Khentse Rinpoche, the late Venerable Deshung Rinpoche, late Venerable Khenpo Rinchen (who was also a tutor of His Holiness Sakya Trizin), late Venerable Tharig Rinpoche, and late Venerable Khenpo Lodo Sangpo (who was his first teacher at the Sa-Ngor-Tshar-Gsum monastery in Sikkim).

Dr. Tenzin Dakpa was born in 1963, in Simla, India.  He joined Men-Tsee-Khang College (Tibetan Medical and Astrological College of H.H. the Dalai Lama) in 1987 and graduated first in his class in 1991.  Thereafter, he served as the Resident Doctor of the New Delhi Branch Clinic in 1993 to 1994, and 2000 to 2002.  In 1995, Dr. Dakpa was transferred to the main institute in Dharamsala, and served as a Special Technical Assistant to the Director and was a member and secretary to the High Level Medical and Astrological Committee.  In the same period, he also worked as a lecturer at the Tibetan Medical and Astrological College and was the Editor-in-chief of the sManrTsis Journal.  He has accompanied senior doctors to Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, France, the Netherlands, USA, Canada, and Japan for medical consultations and lectures.  Dr. Dakpa attended the Third World Congress on Medical Acupuncture and Natural Medicine in Edmonton, Canada in 1995, the 16th International Conference on Acupuncture and Electro-therapeutics at Columbia University, NY in 2000, and the Washington DC. Conference on Tibetan Medicine in 1998. He is also co-editor of the recently published Fundamentals of Tibetan Medicine.  In May 2002, Dr. Dakpa was appointed the Resident Health Advisor a the Medicine Buddha Healing Center, the first US branch clinic of Men-Tsee-Khang, where he gives patient consultations, lectures and short courses on Tibetan medicine.
