SAMYE MEMORIAL INSTITUTE

Samye Memorial Institute is a College of Nyingma (Dudjom Tersar) tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.   Khenpo Yeshe Sangpo Rinpoche is the founder and spiritual Director of this institute.   It was established in 1988 and is situated in Losal Maharaj Gunj at Jana Marg, Kathmandu Valley (near SAARC House).   Hailing from remote Himalayan regions of Nepal and India, 70 students study here, under the guidance of Khenpos who come under invitation from India.   Regular schooling classes are held during the day, as well as religious declamations in the evening.   The institute remains closed for two months over the winter holidays.
