Bairo Rinpoche
The spread of Buddhism in Tibet is explicit in the works of many past scholars. The Nyingma Lineage was disseminated in the central part of Tibet by the (Khen-Lop-Choe Sum) Teacher, Disciple and Dharma King who left no stone unturned to translate the sutras and Tantras into Tibetan script from Indian script. There are many Nyingma lineage holders like. Dorjee-Dak, Mindroling, Palri Thekchen and Kathogpa.
The Kathogpa lineage was disseminated by Dhampa Dheshek who was the emanations of Bharaduaja (one of the sixteen saints to whom Buddha entrusted his doctrine) and also the emanation of the close disciple of Padmasambhava ma-Rinchen at one time. He was born to the son of Father, Tsangpa Paldrag and mother Tsangmo Rinchen Gen in Buborgang in the year 11334 AD. He attended the teachings of many high Lamas like Nyamme Dhakpo and Jantoenpa Drawai Gonpo. He was the first to spread teachings of Sutra and Tantra in Dhokham (eastern Tibet) before innumerable disciples and the teaching flourished extensively. His main lineage holder disciples were Choeje Tsangtoenpa, Jampabum, Jaluepa Bumtrag, Lungten Ushi, and 13 Larab, 13 Drungrab. And 13 Mograb etc. and these panditas were the incarnations of Manjushri, Vajrapani and Avoloketeshwara only, within many monasteries of them, the eight monasteries known as (Gurkar poi choenthak Ghe) Dalag, Shichen, Ragtrom, Taktse Trochu Dechenling, Druktoe Gang at Nyagrong, Shiwa Goen and Lhabum Goen are very famous.
The origin of shichen khermer sangag Tengyeling monastery was as prophesied by Rigzin Duedul at Nyime to construct a monastery on the ripened Wheatfield for the prosperity of in particular Buddhism in general & result teaching Lingshag Ogyen Lhundup did the same and was blessed to see the deities for seven consecutive days. He attained extraordinary power to fly like birds in the sky and transfer his body into any four elements. His fame spread in four directions and gave initiation, Transmission and Teaching of Sutra and Tantra to Innumerable disciples. The lineage holder disciples like hereditary lineage holder of Nyang. The emanation of Namkhai Nyingpo Ogyen Namdrol, the emanation of Lhalung Paldor, Onpo Gangsher Rangdol for the Continuity of Nyang Theritage. The heartson of Ontrul Dongas Terpai Gyaltsen Nyidha Sangpo, his son the emanation of …… Shantidev Kunsang Nyima his other son’s thupga, Jowo, Buchung held seats and Dharma lineage of Kathogpa uptil now.
H. E. Bairo Rinpoche is one of the important lineage gurus of the Nyingma Kathog lineage. A reincarnation of one of Guru Padmasambhava’s twenty five disciples, he is an emanation of Buddha Vairochana, one of the five Dhyani Buddhas, and he is the 36th incarnation in the lineage.
His Eminience was born in 1933 in Onpo Toe Tashi Teng near Derge Kathog of eastern Tibet. At the age of seven Jamyin Kyentse Choekyi Lodoe and Kyabojon Getse Gyurme Tenpa Namgyal recognized him as the Incarnation of mahapandita vairochana and enthroned at the predecessor’s three chief and twelve branch monasteries.
In which Shichen Khermer Sangag Tengayling is one. He attended the teachings of many revered Gurus like Thukse Nyidha Sangpo, Tulku Kunsang Nyima. Kathog Khenpo Serab, Khentse Choekyi Lodoe, Kathog Getse Gyurne Tenpa Zamgyal, Chaktsa Rinpoche Pema Tinlay Gyatso, Khenpo Drime Woeser, Katnog Khenpo Gyaltsen Woeser, Vth Kathog Siddhi Shedup Choekyi Nyima, Kyabje Minling Chung Rinpoche and Khen Rinpoche, Kyabje Duejom Jigdral Yeshi Dorjee, Lodrak Namkhai Nyingpo.
On the later parts of his life he traveled India Bhutan and several western countries. In Bhutan he is in charge of one of the monasteries under the Invitation of the King there. The monastery is reputed to be one known for good discipline and practice.
In his capacity as the father of H.H. Druk Chen Rinpochen, He published several books about Kathogpa and has been instrumental in motivating and helping out with many programs. One is the construction of shichen khermer sangag Tengayling Monastery at Tinchuli near Boudha for the continuation of Bhudda’s Teaching and he has been the guiding force.
