Dechhen Choling Gonpa

Lakpa Lama Sherpa son of Mr. Urgen Sherpa & son of Mr. Gyurme Sherpa, Residence District Solu Khumbhu, V.D.C. Kerung ward no. 1, was born on 1988 B. S.  From the age of 13 years, he learned Tibetan Buddhism under the supervision of Guru Geshe Rinpoche Acharya in Solu Loding. Later he studied in Zangdog Palri with Khamkatok Nyosu Khenpo Rinpoche.  He studied Semthi Wang Lung, Terjeko Wang from Guru Kalu Rinpoche and Lungchai from Nepal’s Tenga Rinpoche.  After finishing the Terje’s Lung he studied Wang Lung from the Chief Lama of Jyalsa’s, and father of Ngawang Shedrup.

On 2027 BC, Mangsir 10, when Durjom Rinpoche came to Dharan, Mr. Pasang Sherpa gave 1 Katha’s of land and Rs 1000.00 in cash.  Dujom Rinpoche was told that there was no Lama or Buddhist worshippers in this area, and told him to stay in Dharan.  He rented a house and stayed there for two years.

On 2029 BC, Baisak 4, a meeting was held regarding the construction of a monastery. The construction started with the help of the local people.  It was completed in 2033 VS.

Before constructing this Monastery, Dujom Rinpoche and Jadral Rinpoche considered f it was the right time for the construction of the monastery. Besides the local people’s help, H.M.G. of Nepal contributed Rs. 50,000.00 (fifty thousands) and ordered three metal sheets bundles.  After completion, Ladahk Nono Rinpoche held the Monastery’s inauguration ceremony and 10 crore Mantras were made by Manidungchhur, with the financial support of Mrs. Marsang Bol, in memory of her husband D.B. Bol.  Dukpa Rinpoche inaugurated this program.
