Pal Thupten Nyedhon Shedrub Dhargyeling monastery

Pal Thupten Nyedhon Shedrub Dhargyeling (An abode of Dharma Teaching and Practice) is located 500 meters from the most magnificent and precious Stupa (Jha Rung Kha Shor) at Buddha Nath.  This monastery was established in early 1996 by Lama Kunga Dhakpa with 5 monks.  Right now the total strength is sixty-two.

The main aim and objectives of this monastery is to maintain rich and profound Buddha Dharma which is the main remedy for Samsaric suffering and to prevail peace in this modern reckless nuclear transmutation.  This teaching was taught by Lord Buddha 2500 years before and the monastery aims to preserve it in general and in particular the Kagyu teaching which is one of the most unique philosophical foundations for scholastic, research and rigorous studies, and to pass its heritage for the coming generation.

The first Rinpoche of this monastery was late Azin Rinpoche.  He was born in 1936 in Kham, Tibet and received his early monastic education from PALNYE monastery.  Since 1959 when the Chinese invaded Tibet, Azin Rinpoche sought asylum in Nepal and engaged his precious time in reviewing Buddhist studies.  Unfortunately, he passed away in 1982. His passing away was like great sunset.
