KARMA DUBGYU CHOLING

Karma Dubgyu Choling Nyeshang Monastery from his majesty’s Government of Nepal around the year 2000.

In 1993, we began construction, but, after the completion of building the present monastery, there has been some gap without a proper management of a higher Lama.

In 1989, a group of Nyeshang (manages) approached Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim, India and requested the Rumtek authorities that may be sent to Pokhara to head the newly built monastery.  The authorities sanctioned the proposal and thus I have been sent to head the Karma Dubgyu Choling monastery here in Pokhara.

I reached Pokhara with my attendant on 13/6/1989 and from that day on ward the overall charge of the monastery was handed over to me by Lama Ngedon.  The Nyeshang Association also organized an enthronement ceremony for me.  After assuming the responsibilities of the monastery, I saw the need for a permanent abbot and asked for the same.  Very soon, abbot Achung was sent. We also have other Lama teachers.

Since 1989, I have wholeheartedly devoted all my energy for the betterment of the monastery.  Now we have finished the construction of motorable road to the monastery, residence for 65 monks and resolved all the water resource problems.  And of course, the new monastery is in complete shape.  We have also started sheda-to study philosophical texts.

Everyday we have prayer sessions in the monastery in accordance with the Karma Kagyue Lineage.
