CHICAGO, 03/10/06: About 100 people assembled at Water Tower Place in Down Town, Chicago at around 12:00 noon to commemorate 47th anniversary of Tibetan National uprising against the Communist Chinese occupation of Tibet. They walked along Chicago’s Michigan Avenue, to the office of Chinese consulate shouting slogans against the Communist Government.
On they way, they stopped at Google office to remind them of their abuse of Human Rights by working with China with slogans like "Google is Evil ‘Coz China is Evel".
Ultimately at Chinese Consulate Mr. Larry Gerstein of International Tibetan Independence Movement spoke about the destruction Chinese have brought in Tibet. He warned that many such protest would be coming forth in future, should the Chinese continue destruction of Tibetan culture and abuses of Human Rights in Tibet.
Kelsang Draggo, President of Tibetan Alliance also spoke and shouted more slogans. Mr. Mikel Dunham, author of the book "Buddha’s warrior" and a long time friend of many members of Voluntary Warriors to protect Buddha Dharma. read HH the Dalai Lama’s 10 March Statement for 2006.
The protest commemoration ended with Tibetan National Anthem at 2:00 pm. All the participant were served hot Thuk-pa at Tibetan Community Center later in the afternoon. |
