The Holy Lake

 Holy Lake

The Holy Lake, which stands 5100 meters high and covers an area of about 2square kilometers, is an alpine lake encircled by high mountains. Forming a shape of a horse hoof, the lake is well known throughout Tibet for its miraculous potentiality of prediction. The reinsertions of the successive Dalai Lamas and Panchan must be chosen under the enlightenment of the holy lake. It is a major scenic spot in the Holy Lake Scenic Area as well as a precious mirror for the believers to pursue their fortune.
