His Holiness the Dalai Lama will visit Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, tomorrow (Wednesday, May 9) at the request of Smith College, Hampshire College and the Tibetan Association of Western Massachusetts.
During a day-long program hosted jointly by Smith President Carol T. Christ and Hampshire President Ralph J. Hexter, His Holiness will receive an honorary doctorate degree and will deliver a talk on "Education for Transformation".
The talk will take place at Smith's Indoor Track and Tennis facility (ITT) from 10 to 11:30 a.m. (eastern time). It will be attended by thousands of students, faculty, staff and invited guests from the two colleges and the Tibetan community.
The event will be broadcast live on public television station WGBY, Channel 57 and accessible to anyone in the Pioneer Valley.
